How important is employee wellbeing at work & company culture
How important is employee wellbeing at work & company culture. One big question and another huge topic.
In the video clip below Tanya speaks to Alisha Patrick from Bee HR Wellbeing Consultants. We try to condense two huge topics into a short video chat.
The specifics – what do we talk about?
How important is employee wellbeing at work & company culture, we all hear more about wellbeing at work now. We talk about employees but, of course we need to consider everyone’s wellbeing at work, not just our employees. That means you need to think about yourself too!
We talk about company culture – we hear the phrase brandished around regularly these days. Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t really know what it means. If you’ve had a small company you may not have given it much thought. You know, when you were just focusing on paying the bills and building relationships with customers.
As part of your improvement planning process though, you should be looking to give your company culture some serious thought. If you can embed a strong company culture within your business you will have the potential to build a far stronger brand and get greater employee retention levels. If you work to improve your company culture you can really help the team development. That is because everyone benefits from a more positive environment at work. That helps productivity.
Happy people don’t spend time thinking about problems at work or blaming everyone else around them for issues at work. Consequently productivity goes up. Not to mention, you don’t get interrupted all of the time with smaller employee issues. Hence you can prioritise what you need to do to run a successful business too.

They are both linked!
How important is employee wellbeing at work & company culture? Well, they are both very important topics and as your can see from our conversation. They are linked!
It is probably impossible for an employee to have a good level of wellbeing at work if the company culture is toxic. Especially if the toxicity is aimed in their direction.
Sometimes you have to float the dead wood!
You can’t always get every employee to embrace the changes you are making in your business. If you had a strawberry rotting in the punnet, do you leave it in there or remove it to give the rest a chance? If you leave it in, we all know what happens! The rot spreads…
Just think that over for a minute. Your business, that you give your all, and many others do too. People rely on the income or the orders from your business. Do you want the rot to spread?
So many people are averse to change but, in life, change is guaranteed. Not changing is not an option so if you know you are one of those people, get someone to help you that embraces change. I am one of those people who embrace change by the way!
